Young people looking for care home information in order to build a career in the sector have been heartened today by the news that Scottish Enterprise has launched a new Pre-Modern Apprenticeship Health & Social Care scheme.
Under the scheme those aged between 16 and 18 are given practical solutions and tips on how to prepare themselves for a career in the care sector.
It is designed to reduce the number of potential workers who drop out of the industry at an early age by giving a better grounding in the car industry.
Shirley Boyle, executive, Skills and Learning at Scottish Enterprise Ayrshire, said: "Scottish Enterprise Ayrshire is one of only two local enterprise companies to try this approach.
"We hope this initiative will go on to become successful both in Ayrshire and throughout the country."
